We take these crazy round-the-world trips every two years and tradition dictates that each of them begins with my pal Don taking us to the airport. He is a kind and gentle man, Buddha-like in spirit if not in circumference, and he offered up this sage piece of advice so filled with wisdom that it surely applies not just to travelers, but to all those who seek to live a rich, fulfilling life:
“Don’t forget to change your underwear frequently.”
