Estancia El Ombu, Argentina: Rubbing Juan Peron’s head for luck

September 16, 2019 Jim Leave a Comment

I’ve read a lot about former Argentine President Juan Peron, but I cannot figure out if he’s a hero or a villain. Here we are fifty years later and Argentines are also divided on the man’s legacy.

At first I thought the owners of Estancia El Ombu had expressed their opinion by placing a bust of Peron just outside the door of their guest dining room. But then I got to thinking that maybe the placement is meant to be ironic. Or maybe even an insult.

What do you think?
