Easter Island, Chile: The perfect holiday video (until the last few seconds)

October 14, 2019 Jim Leave a Comment

The one place Jamie most wanted to visit in the world was Easter Island. And who can blame her?

They say it’s the most isolated place on earth, so getting here is clearly not easy. It required multiple flights and covered more than nine thousand miles. After arriving in Hanga Roa in the afternoon, we drove early the next morning from one side of the island to the other to reach the remote site where fifteen of the mysterious monoliths line up alongside an empty shoreline.

It’s an awesome experience, an incredible sight. So we set up our camera and hoped to shoot something that adequately captured it all.

This is the result — an absolutely stunning video, possibly the greatest holiday video ever shot. Until you get to the last few seconds and see…

…a lone, boneheaded German tourist picking his nose.

Ach du lieber.
