When we left Albuquerque we moved to a great place called Lake Sumner. Fort Sumner, yes the Billy the Kid town, is 18 miles away and I only go there a couple of times per week for groceries or beer. No WalMart, no fast food joints except the one burger place that is locally owned. Three neighbors and one of them is my mother another one a brother. No bratty kids running around our ‘hood, almost everyone here is retired. The last time I heard a siren was last summer when the fire department was out for a grass fire. Our acres may not be green this time of year but it is still better than looking at a bunch of buildings!
