Animals from countries with rabies (like the United States) have a 10-day quarantine. Animals from some other countries have no quarantine at all. Tinker’s friend Sherman is owned by an Aussie family that adopted him while they were living in the US. Sherman had to go through months of shots and vet visits to qualify to fly to Oz and go into the ten day quarantine.
