“Show” is another one of those Aussie terms that seems a little off kilter to Americans. In this case, the Angaston Show is very similar to what we could call a county fair. It took place in the Angaston Oval, which is only a couple hundred yards from our cottage.
Isn’t this ram a beauty? Yeah, I go to a county fair and immediately start acting like I’ve retained some part of my childhood on the farm. Truth is, I haven’t.
What a sweet, small town affair. All the same kinds of booths you’d see at an American county fair, offering all the same sorts of things, but somehow different.
Jamie loves flowers. She cares for all the flowers at our cottage as if it were her own garden. She was in awe over the size of the prize winners.
The winning wool. I wouldn’t know winner wool from loser wool, but there is apparently a difference.
The Angaston Oval, normally the site of cricket and footie games, was the scene of the equestrian events.
