In reply to Bob. Two things: (1) Bob was actually a brilliant name for that cat. He had clearly been the loser in a number of cat fights. But we named him Bob because his tail has suffered some sort of trauma. It was bent at a strange angle and was only about half as long as it should have been. In other words, he was bob-tailed. Hence, the name “Bob.” And (2) Damn it. I clearly underestimated your fiscal acuity.

Having a bit of experience with the nut removal process I can assure you old Bob wasn’t as docile as you think. He was really pissed off and was merely bidding his time until he could achieve a measure of revenge against those who arranged for the lopping. You are a lucky man that old Bob wasn’t able to bring his plan to fruition.
