Ushuaia, Argentina: The tropics on Sunday, snow on Tuesday

September 14, 2019 Jim 1 Comment

My dad grew up in northern Montana and moved to Southern California as soon as he could, because as he said, “August is the only month it never snows in Montana.”

I’m going to make the following statement with great authority, but with absolutely no actual knowledge to back it up:

I’m pretty sure it snows twelve months a year here in Ushuaia. It’s the tail end of winter and it’s been snowing on and off all day and the forecast calls for snow all of next week.

I think my dad would have preferred the weather at Iguazu Falls.
